On August 17, 2015, I began a 12,000 mile bicycle journey along the perimeter of the U.S. for Habitat For Humanity and Save The Children. Leaving my home in Toledo, Ohio, I pedaled eastward to Maine, down the East Coast, along the southern perimeter states, and then up the West Coast to Portland, OR, from where I took Amtrak eastward to Chicago, and then finished my ride back home to Toledo. I was on the road for a little over 9 months and bicycled over 9,000 miles traversing 26 states. Through the generosity of those who have supported my ride, I have been able to raise over $28,000 for these two worthwhile charities and I volunteered at Habitat For Humanity build sites in 15 cities along the course of my ride. But there is some unfinished business - my plan now is to pick up where I left off in Portland, OR, and bicycle the final 3,000 miles along the northern perimeter from Portland back to my home in Toledo this summer.
If you would like to help me reach my goal of raising $40,000, please consider joining me in supporting the mission of these two charities to build affordable homes and help kids worldwide.
